Global
Eco is Ecotourism
Australia's annual premier conference. Global
Eco brings together leading players from across
the globe to examine best practice across Sustainability,
Ecotourism, Cultural and Heritage Tourism,
Tourism in Protected Areas and Climate Change
Response.
The Conference brings together a delegation that
is made up of a broad range of sectors that play
a direct and indirect role in delivering
sustainable tourism and ecotourism, providing
delegates with an excellent opportunity to examine
and debate critical new research and policy, emerging
issues and opportunities influencing the industry
and its further development and sustainability.
Delegates review current best practices and collectively
take a forward perspective on the industry.
Through bringing together this diverse group of
industry leaders, it is possible to gain practical
and tangible benefits for the industry.
The
Ecotourism Australia conference has established
a very strong and credible reputation over the
past eighteen years and each conference has dealt
with contemporary issues and deliberately seeks
to engage stakeholders in sustainability
and ecotourism: operators; government; industry
associations; the conservation sector; high tech
sustainability product providers and services.
National
and international keynote speakers
will provide the latest insight in challenges and
opportunities facing the industry with plenty of
opportunities for delegates to participate in discussions.
Various Theme
Stream Workshops enable delegates
to further examine case studies and participate
in more in-depth discussions on key conference topics
thus gaining practical and tangible information
to benefit their business and the industry as a
whole.
Global
Eco features an Indigenous
Tourism Forum which is a specialised
day focussing on applied case study examples of
business development; successful employment and
training initiatives; youth, culture and heritage
development; and business investment for growth.
New
at Global Eco this year is the ASEAN
and OCEANIA Tourism Forum. This
forum will feature national and international case
studies addressing topics such as: importance of
sustainable development; importance of Indigenous/Cultural
tourism; quality control/certification and more.
At
a point where the world is looking for more sustainable
future strategies to deal with the aftermath of
the global economic crisis and the rebuild after
natural disasters, it is vital that the key
players in the industry come together to
develop responses.
