Ecotourism
Australia, with the support of NSW National Parks
and Wildlife Service is currently organising the
organisation's
nineteenth annual conference, the Global Eco Asia-Pacific
Tourism Conference. The 2011 Global Eco Conference
will be held 7-10 November in Sydney,
Australia.
Here
you will find the latest details about the conference.
Convenor's
Message Global Eco brings together leading practitioners
from around the globe to present and discuss the
opportunities created through ecotourism. Importantly,
for the first time the conference is being held
on Sydney Harbour and foreshore - providing the
opportunity to advance urban ecotourism and urban
natural and cultural heritage. Sydney Harbour will
be our venue for the four days - delegates will
have the chance to experience all dimensions of
Sydney's globally envied World Heritage Area. Sydney
Harbour provides a perfect backdrop for an amazing
program which will examine best practice across
ecotourism, sustainability, Indigenous tourism,
cultural and heritage tourism, tourism in protected
areas and climate change response.
A
major focus this year will be how to seize the potential
of ecotourism and to optimise its potential for
your business or enterprise.
Global
Eco 2011 again presents the highly successful Indigenous
Tourism Forum as well as a new addition to the program,
the ASEAN and OCEANIA Tourism Forum further establishing
Global Eco as the leading Asia-Pacific ecotourism
event.
Ecotourism
Australia will be celebrating its 20th birthday
this year and Global Eco 2011 is set to become a
major part of the celebrations. I would like to
invite you to join us to celebrate the milestones
achieved by EA, but more importantly to chart the
next 20 years of Ecotourism! I look forward to seeing
you in Sydney!
