Indigenous
participation in tourism provides Australia with
a competitive advantage while at
the same time providing valuable economic contributions
and the fulfilment of positive reconciliation actions.
There are significant alignments
between sustainable tourism, ecotourism, heritage
tourism and Indigenous tourism development. Drawing
on global examples the Indigenous
Tourism Forum will examine the opportunities, tools
and methods of building Indigenous business opportunities
in the tourism industry. Delegates will have the
opportunity to view innovative case studies and
to create new networks with leading players in the
industry.
The
Indigenous Tourism Forum features
keynote speakers and case study examples including
plenty of discussion time for delegates to interact
with speakers and take home tangible resources.
The
Indigenous Tourism Forum held on Monday
7 November 2011 is an element of the Global
Eco Conference and is designed to be applied,
practical and content rich. The Forum is open for
anyone to attend, registration for the day
is $660.
